About Me
Arrival in the U.S.
I left Bulgaria in 2013, and first came to the U.S. as an exchange student in Indiana. I was in my junior year of High School. I ended up finishing and graduating from High School there. The next year I went to community college in upstate New York. Once I graduated with an Associates of Arts, I transfered to Florida State University (FSU) for my Bachelor degree in Criminology. I loved studying criminology but by the end of it I realized this is not what I want to do for life.
Instructional Design
I knew I wanted to continue my education and enroll in graduate school but I didn’t know what program I wanted to be in. After researching a few different programs I decided on Instructional Systems & Learning Technology at FSU. Since starting this program I have learned so much about learning, training, design, evaluation, and so much more. I’ve loved every moment of it, and this made me feel reassured I chose the right program. Every client and project I have done so far showed me how important this field is. It is important to mention I started this program in the fall of 2020. This was the peak of Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic made this field even more important. People had to learn how to work online in this new all digital world.
Now as I am at the end of my program, I am ready to find a position within an organization that appreciates the importance of instructional design and improving work performance.
Hobbies
In my free time I like to do many different things that stimulate both the physical and mental. Some of my hobbies are riding my motorcycle, working out, attend church, traveling, trying new foods, finding new investments, and learning about NFTs.
Career and Professional Goals
Instructional Design and Performance Improvement are two skills I was able to obtain during my time in the ISLT program at Florida State University. I believe in the near future I would be able to use these skills and many more towards contributing to the instructional design field.
I have found a desire in assisting businesses in their day-to-day operations. Specifically, I love to help them optimize their organizational performance, and correcting any existing problems. Being in the ISLT program as a student, meeting professors from this program, and working with my graduate colleagues has provided me with every tool I need in order to succeed as an instructional designer.
I strongly believe we need more instructional designers in any field and any business. People from this field will be able to contribute to organizations and help them achieve higher overall success.
